Folks,
I just read through one of those terrible x86 magazines. Somebody advertized
their LPT port ethernet[TM] adapter.

While I believe that the idea of driving the ethernet through a slow LPT
port is not really fascinating, I sort of like the idea of using the
parallel port for "serious work". This would require reading from the
port, though.

Now, the obvious questions:
How do I work out whether my hardware is up to doing that kind of thing ?
What registers to set to what sort of value in order to read ?
What sort of registers to set to what sort of value to drive the control
lines in outgoing mode ?

Any hints, anybody ?

Oh, and *please* *don't* tell me to read() from /dev/lpt1. That kind of trick
would, of course, prerequire (?) the questions above to be answered...

Thanks,
	Bernard
