  I was fiddling with the limitations under tcsh with "limit" when I noticed 
that if you did a:

		limit openfiles unlimited

and then tried to "exec screen" the machine would hang. However, pressing
CTRL-C made it log out and it was ok to re-login. Limits with 128 or 256 
openfiles seemed to be working too, but I think I got an error message at 
least once saying there was no /var/run/utmp.

  Have I missed a patch or is this a new bug?
