The difference is that a beautiful piece of design and implementation
was taken and ruthlessly slaughtered to turn it into ``a product''.  A
simple lines of code vs functionality metric can prove this.  V8 streams
were some 5-10 times smaller in code size and had complete functionality.

I could quote a source on the ``productisation'' of streams regarding
what actually happened, but I am not pepared to divulge my source.
