Thanks to all who replied to me with mail about how to get slip working it seems to be working great! I think that somehow I messed up one of the files that the command 'w' uses or something, but am unsure. It always gets an error returning 'can't get namelist.' Any ideas? Also, I noticed that the finger daemon is not part of the standard setup and does not run on my machine. Could someone point me on how to get that working? I found a file called 'fingerd' in /usr/obj.... somewhere...but was unsure if that was it since it doesn't seem to be set executable. My local mail seems to work fine, but I can't mail to a remote system, and for my last question, why would gcc 2.3.3 respond to a compile attempt saying it did not recognize a '-lang-c' flag? Thanks in advance to any responses! Matthew C. Mead cs170501@vtaix.cc.vt.edu
