I.e.: Who is selling it >right now? Palladium does exist, and HP has been selling it as HP Openspool for at least the past year. When ordering our first Unix system, we took a look at the lp spooler and thought "What a joke!". Forms control? Ha. Paper jam recovery? Ha. Palladium/Openspool gives us these features and more. It offers centralized control of all network spooling. Extensive opportunities for user customization exist. Plus you even get lp command-set emulation. Or you can use the native command-line set, or a Motif GUI. The GUI is especially nice for spooler administration/configuration tasks. We're glad we went with it. Lp would have been rather unsuitable for a high-volume production environment. -- Mark Bixby Internet: markb@cccd.edu Coast Community College District 1370 Adams Avenue District Information Services Costa Mesa, CA, USA 92626 Technical Support (714) 432-5064 "You can tune a file system, but you can't tune a fish." - tunefs(1M)
