I feel I just got a bargain.  I bought an Adaptec 1522B from Mac and PC
USA (1-800-858-7436) for $99.  That's abut $40 less than I've seen it
other places.  They also sell the 1542B for $225, which is a fair price.
I couldn't justify the extra cost considering mine is being used for a
CD-ROM and tape in the future, but you may have different needs.
