This is not normal behaviour. You may have forgotten to disable console
logins in /dev/ttys. I did it once.. System slowly went to a complete
stop. Load went to infinity and keyboard input was impossible. It was
possible to cut'n'paste with the mouse and enter commands that whay though :-)
