I was told that the {dist,fixit}.fs.pk-0.2 images should work on the Compaq, but I was unable to get them to work. It appeared to be booting fine but upon displaying "changing root device to fd0a", it then proceeded to hang (although occasionally it would hang right after displaying the release message). Has anyone experienced anything similar to this or know what may be wrong? I did find some stock 0.1 images on wotan.compaq.com (?), but there were no patches, so even if I was able to get it installed, I don't know if I'd be able to build a working, patched kernel for my machine. Currently, I have DOS and Linux already on the machine. Looking at the FAQ, it seems possible to install 386BSD on a separate partition without hosing DOS or Linux, but I would appreciate some reassurances (and tips :-)) from someone who's successfully managed this already. I'd especially appreciate any info using LILO to choose among the three at boot time. Thanks!
