Do I >have a corrupted patchkit? or is something else wrong? Any help is appreciated >as I need to get my kernel stable...thanks! Don't worry, Be Happy. patch00504 is a patch that requires the etcdist (which you don't have installed), and so it shouldn't be a problem. One of the complaints if the original patchkit was that it assumed EVERYTHING was installed, so I moved to un-necessary or specific hardware patches up to patches > 500. Make sure you re-compile and install config, config up your kernel, make depend, make, and then copy the new kernel to root and your machine should be more stable. (Note: There are STILL bugs in the com-driver, so I recommend getting Chris's driver in the meantime. Besides, it works better, even if the old one were fixed..)
