Yes it does, I'm running it now. BUT! Underscore BUT! Install the
patchkit FIRST then install XFree. After installation DO NOT at all
costs DO NOT install the included patchkit found at
/usr/X386/lib/X11/etc/"patchkit". These are duplicates of patches in
the kit and if installed twice will seriously HOSE your system. I
mistakenly did and ran into infinate panic reboot loop.

Good point.

/usr/lib/X11/etc/README.386BSD is explicit about this. The
current revision of the relevant section is:

XFree86's kernel patches are identical to those in Terry Lambert's
patchkit versions 0.1 and 0.2 because they were contributed to the
patchkit. So use one or the other not both. If you apply patches
28-31 from either patchkit, don't apply the XFree86 kernel patches.
In fact, the patch kit is easeier to use, so you might want to
consider it first.

Also, you *must* add `option XSERVER' to your kernel configuration
file when you rebuild the kernel. `option UCONSOLE' is required as
well with XFree86's kernel patches and patchkit 0.1 but is not needed
with version 0.2 of the patchkit.

You should be able to install the patchkit before or after installing
XFree86. They are independent source trees.

So, install the patchkit (0.2) and install XFree86. MINIMUM disk drive
   is a 200Meg. I'm running a Maxtor 7213 (203 Meg) and I have MAYBE 20
   meg free after bin01, etc01, src01 and Xfree86 installation. But I love
   it!

The complete XFree86 binary distribution takes just under 28Mb itself.
