I have 3COM card configured : at port: 0x250 and iomem: 0xd800. After installing Tiny 386BSD to : my HD and booting, I do: tiny bsd is set to a specific hardware setup for the ethernet cards. For instance I used an NE2000 with irq=2 and port=0x300. This is not the default for the card (out of the box). You must configure the card to match Tiny 386bsd not configure bsd for the card. When your system boots you should get a signon message that refers to your net card, in my case ne0. It tells me which irq, and port bsd is configured for. : 1) ifconfig ec0 131.158.51.250 : 2) route add default 131.158.51.50 : 3) ftp 131.158.51.10 Assuming that .250 is the tiny bsd ip address, and .50 is the host you want to connect to then you have ftp'ed to .10. That might be your problem. I'm no expert. I did the same as you however I ftp'ed to the ip address specified on the 'route add default' line. ifconfig ec0 131.158.51.250 route add default 131.158.51.50 ftp 131.158.51.10 ^^ Perhaps change this to 50. : ...after step 3, ftp just hangs... That's what happened to me until I reconfigured the ethernet card to match how bsd was configured. Good luck. -- Jeffrey H.
