I know I must disklabel them first, so I ran thru my /etc/disktab and found the "floppy" entry corresponded to the 1.44MB 3.5" disks I am useing. But disklabel -w -r /dev/fd0a floppy Gives the following error[s]: ioctl DIOCSDINFO: Device not configured ioctl DIOCWLABEL: Device not configured I checked the FAQ, but to no avail. Sorry if this is trivial, but any help? I know the device itself works fine, I can mount the fixit fs and root disk; I could make my filesystems by dd'ing them and rm -fr /mnt on them, but I'd really like to know how it is "supposed" to work. -- Protect our endangered bandwidth - reply by email.
