I tried to boot 386bsd former but I didn't have enough space on my 200MB-CDC Drive to install it. It booted OK. Now I bought an 1.2GB disk from IBM an had to change the Bios/MCode-eproms on my Adaptec 1542b-Controller to support disks > 1GB. Now, when I try to boot from floppy to install 386bsd it stops after the message `changing root device to fd0a'. I think it might be a Problem with the SCSI- Driver which dosen't support the new Eproms on my Adaptec. Did anyone else recognize this problem? --- My Machine: i486-33 VTI-Chipset 256kb-Cache 20mb-Ram Adaptec 1542b updated with Bios/MCode > 1GB-Kit Vers. 3.20 1992 1,2GB IBM-disk 200MB CDC-disk --- Thanks for your help Stephan I tried to boot dist-floppy 386bsd Rel. 0.1 dated 7/14/92 -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mail: Stephan.Maurer@Informatik.Uni-Oldenburg.DE Real: Stephan Maurer, FB 10 Informatik (Theorie) Uni Oldenburg, 2900 Oldenburg (Germany) phone: 0441/798-2197 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
