I have no problem running nethack 3.1 (latest Version). I installed the patchkit 0.2, applied all patches and have activated the kernel option NONOP, which speeds up some sort of i/O, leaving out some waits. What patchlevel has your OS ? BTW: I have some other problems with nethack. Easch time, when a monster or I throws something, then the screen gets confused and I have to redraw it with ^R. It's not fun If I'm in a big struggle with several opponents. After each move I have to redraw the screen. Did somebody compile nethack with the define MINIMAL_TERM (see include/config.h). Did it help ? Has somebody a solution for it ?
