There was, some months ago; a spirited discussion of the problems
people discovered with ULSI chips.

I don't want to re-hash that all here; but if anyone would like
a re-telling, just toss me a note and I'll send you what I have.

Apparently, there are several people who have experienced problems
with ULSI chips, which were repaired by replacing them with other
chips.  This is, quite reasonably, an incredible statement, since
the chips should be *very* compatible - but nonetheless, that's the
experience.
