Hi...

I have been installing XS3 for a couple of days, but I couldn't make it run..

Hardware configuration: AIR VESA local bus 486-66 w/ Orchid Fahrenheit VLB +
NEC-3A monitor

What I've done:
* download binary file of XS3.2a, install it as ..X11/bin/X386
create X as a soft link to X386 in the same directory -> ../X11/bin/
* uncompress all font files
* changes in Xconfig as follow:
  > RGBPath "/usr/X386/lib/X11/rgb"
  > FontPath "/usr/X386/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/X386/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/"
  > Vendor "Orchid"
  > Clocks 0 1 2 b (found using clock program... and converted to hex)
  > Virtual 640 480
  > Modes "640x480"
  > videoram 1024
  > ModeDB
  > "640x480" 0 640 664 760 800 480 491 493 525

What I got:
A screen full w/ blue vertical bars. If I press return, It will change color
to white bars one line by line

If I do "xinit >& errors", the following is what I'l get:

> S3
> Init base @ 20c3000
> vgaHW.c read_error 0
> VGA256: Cannot read colourmap from VGA. Will restore with default
> failed to set default font path '/usr/X386/lib/X11/fonts/misc/,/usr/X386/lib/X11/fo75dpi/'
> Fatal server error:
> could not open default font 'fixed'
>
> Exiting
> X10: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) on X server ":0.0"
> .blah...blah....

Did I miss something when I installed it? I think I did something stupid! :)
Or XS3 doesn't support Orchid Fahrenheit VLB yet? It's S3 though...

Note: I don't have ../X11/rgb directory at all. What files should be there?
The path is included in Xconfig. Is it the problem?
Any help will be appreciated...

I managed to run X using X386 w/ Trident 8900. It's slow. I want to use S3..:)
