Organization: Microdata Oy Date: Thu, 18 Feb 1993 11:22:39 GMT Message-ID: <count.730034559@mits> Keywords: 386bsd mail ftp telnet Sender: usenet@prime.mdata.fi (Usenet poster) Nntp-Posting-Host: mits.mdata.fi Lines: 24 I've been up all night installing our 386bsd system so forgive my mistakes and try to understand what I am asking... The situation: 386BSD with patchkit 0.2.1 patches, freshly compiled kernel ftp won't work from outside world into 386bsd host. reason unknown. mail won't work from outside world into 386bsd host. Doesn't even bounce back, it gets totally lost. When I try to telnet to port 25 from outside, sendmail answers OK but then I get '500 command unrecognized' error messages until I close connection. What is wrong? Network card is LANTastic AE-2 in NE2000 emulation mode which works great in our MS-DOS PC's and our router is Telebit NetBlazer. Please reply by E-Mail, this is getting to my nerves! -- Bror 'Count' Heinola # Count in IRC # Alkutie 67 B 19 # count@mits.mdata.fi # "I've got a bad feeling 00660 HELSINKI # count@snafu.muncca.fi # about this."
