Message-ID: <45285@sdcc12.ucsd.edu> Date: 19 Feb 93 03:48:05 GMT References: <9302181750.AA22078@mole.gnu.ai.mit.edu> Sender: news@sdcc12.ucsd.edu Organization: University of California, San Diego Lines: 17 Nntp-Posting-Host: icogsci1.ucsd.edu Can anyone tell me if a VL-bus video card could be used in ISA only mode on an ISA machine? This might encourage me to buy an S3 928 screamer now (so I can get some fast video) in a VL-Bus version and hold off on getting a new VL-BUS motherboard until my 386 starts getting on my nerves (hopefully 586's will be cheap by then). This probably doesn't need to be said but I *DON'T* want to by a brand new ISA only video board (I'm kind of anxious for faster video but don't want to abandon my 386 yet (can't afford it, good enough for now)) Please reply. Somebody must know the answer bubt nobody replied the last time I asked this question. Thanks :) Rick Dante rdante@sdcc13.ucsd.edu cg18fbi@icogsci1.ucsd.edu
