I am using an Archive Python DAT drive using Julian's SCSI drivers.
The standard SCSI driver does not work correctly without a patch, because
support for variable length tape blocks is broken.  Even with the patch,
I've found that the standard drivers do not hand tape drives nearly as
well as Julian's drivers.
