I think it is unlikely that there will be reliable, affordable multiport smartcard support for 386BSD in the near future. In the meantime though, consider using a terminal server and going over an ethernet to your 386BSD box. There are some nice advantages to be had, as well, like support for multiple hosts, not getting locked into the PC bus for the I/O card and, well, is anybody else truly happy with the way Digiboards and the like work?
