Message-ID: <1993Feb22.190857.11186@kestrel.edu> Date: 22 Feb 93 19:08:57 GMT Sender: kevin@kestrel.edu (Kevin Ow-Wing) Organization: Kestrel Institute, Palo Alto, CA Lines: 20 I have been trying to get 386BSD to run on my Everex Step 386/25 without much success. I can usually boot from a dist.fs floppy, although not always. When it will boot, I have been able to proceed with the install to the hard disk, but then I wouldn't be able to boot from the hard disk (and the Floppy light would be stuck on). I tried changing disk controller, which helped a little bit; now I can boot from the hard disk, but the floppy drives aren't recognized so I can't mread the rest of the distribution (and the light of floppy drive A is stuck ON). Any suggestions? I should mention that the HD is an ESDI (CDC WREN V) and the first controller was a DTC (6820?) and the 2nd controller was an Everex EV348. I should also mention that, because of DOS limitations, the disk had been formatted using translation mode (in both controller cases). Also, I have been running DOS, etc. on this machine for 3 years and have never seen any problems with the floppies, or the controller(s). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevin
