A *new* kernel?!?!? Written partly in C++?!?!? A rewrite of TCP/IP, VM, vfs and fs stuff?!??! [shock subsides] My God. Did WFJ say anything about whether he's planning to keep the BSD43 kernel and library interfaces? It seems that he's planning to redesigning the whole thing, I hope that he's not planning to rewrite (read: change the interface to) the likes of libc, etc. [ok more shock has subsided] Actually, this is probably long overdue in BSD43 (major rewrite that is). There is quite a bit of cludginess in the kernel that should be cleaned up. And if WFJ's book covers the new interfaces and details the kernel's design then I'd fight to be the first person to own a copy. Frankly, I was only expecting major bug fixes in 386BSD 0.2 -- #include <std.disclaimer> #define FULL_NAME "Paul Dokas" #define EMAIL "pbd@runyon.cim.cdc.com" /* Just remember, you *WILL* die someday. */
