Message-ID: <wier-200293010417@csci-wiermac.etsu.edu> Followup-To: comp.os.386bsd.questions Sender: usenet@ra.oc.com Organization: East Texas State University Date: Sat, 20 Feb 1993 08:08:25 GMT Lines: 33 Has anyone gotten the Western Digital 8013EBT card up for 386BSD? (ethernet) This is basically the "dumb" card in the 16 bit line. I bought it used, so have extremely limited documentation, and no MSDOS software (I don't think it would do anything anyway - see below)... I've put it online with the boot floppy, and it seems to be recognized, but when I try to ftp with it, I get infinite "65531reject 65531reject" messages (I'm suspicious that it's the difference between the 8003 8k buffer and the 8013 16k buffer?) I struggled with this on LINUX for weeks, and have given up there for the time being. Thought I'd try 386BSD since the networking facilities seem somewhat more advanced. The machine is a 386SX clone, 4 meg memory, 40 mb hd (but with an adaptek 1542 scsi controller waiting to be installed). This WD board basically has no smarts - it's configured with jumpers. It does appear to be functioning somewhat since the LED indicators light when there is ethernet activity. Any suggestions gratefully received. Please drop me a note at the address below or post here.
