I did config the kernel. =>I did make depend in my DELL directory. vers.o was NOT updated. =>I got: =>ld: vers.o not found then you did something wrong. i re-install the srcdist rather often, and that includes blowing away /sys/compile... installing the srcdist, and the .h files from the bindist, installing all of the patches in the patchkit, cd /usr/src/usr.sbin/config ; make ; make install cd /sys/i386/conf ; config KERNELNAME cd /sys/compile/KERNELNAME make is exactly what you need to do. it works. chris -- Chris G.
