if people are having problems with my serial port driver, I WANT TO GET
MAIL ABOUT IT. it's the one type of e-mail i actually respond to

if you've a problem where things don't work, send me whatever info
you can about your system in terms of setup, send a "ps alxww" of
the system "while the problem is happening" and one before/after,
as well...
