For the slight (immho :^) aesthetic advantage of having shadows on every graphic object, there is no benefit in OSF/Motif. Standard MIT distribution supplies all the basic X Window System needs for 386bsd (i.e., basic widgets, libraries, window managers) and other contributors to the MIT distribution supply widgets/applications every bit as useable as OSF's. Also, let us remember, 386bsd's stated purpose is furthering operating system and networking development. Buying software and rights to use/modify it somehow seems to violate this (IMHO). I could go on forever, but I won't (the crowd goes *WILD*! }:^} ). Dave S. P.S. Isn't this more appropriate to comp.unix.x.i386 ?
