I'd like to try 386BSD on my 486 machine. What I got is a single floppy
which is labeled BSD386, V0.1 tiny root and a QIC tape. Fine..

When the floppy is booted, it does not recognize the diskcontroller (I have
a Adaptec 1542A in my machine) or the QIC02 controller (I have
an Archive SC499R with 5945 drive).

Question 1: is the above hardware supported? I know a 1542A is old, so..?
The INSTALL.NOTES file just uses 'Adaptec 1542'. Same question for the
tape.

Question 2: is the software I have a bit current (just a bit..)? What
Is the current version if mine isn't?

Question 3: which archive site(s) have the current 386BSD stuff?

Question 4: last but not least: Is there a FAQ around somewhere?

Any help is mucho appreciated.

Wilko
