I have this in an EISA motherboard with an 80486-DX2/66, and I'm using a Maxtor P1-17S drive with no other devices on the SCSI bus, on an otherwise minimally-configured system. I low-level formatted the disk and have a DOS partition on it that boots normally. If I set up the controller in 'standard' SCSI mode as if it were a 1542 with the settings as described in the 386bsd installation notes, it won't boot off the floppy. It tries to boot, gives me SCSI status filled with zeros, and then crashes. If I set up the controller in 'enhanced' SCSI mode it boots without error messages, but won't let me install because 386bsd doesn't recognise any hard disk. Any clues on how to get this up and going? -- - Les Johnson (les@ulysses.att.com) 1+908-582-5493 "One Bell System - It Works"
