But now I've got the patchkit and I can't see any mention of that. Could someone give me a few pointers? Does the 0.2.1 patchkit provide me with functional cslip, how does one enable it with ifconfig, and is it worth it (i.e. does it REALLY improve matters over slip w/o VJ compression)? Oh, and I'd be interested in hearing from anybody who's using a v.32+v.42bis modem (not v.32bis) and who is getting anything close to the supposed peak transmission speed --- I seem to be getting an effective transfer rate of about 8000bps over a nice clean phone line. -- Thomas Russo russo@vivaldi.lanl.gov Los Alamos National Lab, T-12, Theoretical Chemistry and Molecular Physics *Opinions expressed are those of the author alone and do not represent *positions or policies of Los Alamos National Laboratory or the University *of California --------
