I have no direct experience with >a PS/2 mouse, but the code in XFree86 implies it has 3 buttons. The PS/2 mouse specs from IBM only talk about two button mice. BUT to say that PS/2 mice or Microsoft mice don't have middle buttons is an oversimplification. Ok, Microsoft probably never made a three button mouse, but I have a Logitech serial mouse at home which is "Microsoft compatible", ie. it talks the Microsoft protocol with one of the "reserved" bits used for the middle button. Same goes for three button PS/2 mice. Btw. that a mouse is a PS/2 mouse does not imply anything about who made it; all PS/2 mice are supposed to be compatible. -- Johan Myreen jem@cs.hut.fi
