This is just a suggestion to you and others that are patching.
The new FDC driver is completely rewritten. The patch here may
not fit in the logic of the new driver. Please advise people
that the new driver will support all sizes, but I many not
use this patch, also the support for these sizes still needs
to be added.
For my consideration, if you can, send me a copy of the patch
in as "RAW" form as available. My response will be forth
coming, swiftly upon review of the code.
In the meantime, I am working on more documentation for the
new driver for installation, use and programming. The current
driver, as posted on agate.berkeley.@edu, has no documentation and
is only supported by articles posted to the @NEWSgroup(s).
Please feel free, to request any work you think you may need
from me to complete the FDC driver for the patch-kit.

Current status of FDC
---------------------
I e-mailed approx. 12 people about availability... not beta-testers
or anything in any official manner (to the FDC fix).
As of today no one has responded with questions or problems.
THIS IS A BRAND NEW DRIVER!
By the time you receive this I will already be asking for beta
testers. Official release will follow as designated by the
official beta-test-coordinator (as of yet unnamed). Your
cooperation and comments are requested.

Current status of @QIC-40/80

Still reviewing code by @dbrown@ucsd.edu. It is a bit ugly and
in my consideration the logic is mucked_up (sorry Dave).
I plan on e-mailing dbrown@ucsd.edu and make the effort a
joint one.
I also plan to make voluminous* posting on the QIC-40/80 issue.
*Some people regard my posting as a constipation to the "bandwidth".
