Ref.tfs.com will be closing down as a site at which other
people can log in and run 386bsd.

It will stay on for a while as an FTP site.
All accounts on ref will be dissabled at the end of the upcoming weekend.

Directories will not be deleted for a while, so you may still use ftp to
get any files you have left there.

The mail aliases will continue to work for the forseeable future and in
the case that ref.tfs.com goes away, I will redirect the tfs nameserver
to forward MX requests to cgd's new machine (or maybe just let tfs.com itself
act as the mailing list server.. (easily done).)
(alternatively, ref may downgrade to a 386-20 that is spare here
and remain as a mail forwarder indeffintly)

As you are probably aware, I am leaving TFS after a 3 year posting here in the
United states. I will be returning to Australia and hope to continue
working with 386bsd from there. I will however not be as closely coupled to
the net. I will continue however to have SOME connections to tfs and
can hope to influence the final resting place of ref.

I fly out on the 11th of March and by then hope to have ref stable
enough as just an ftp server, that the regular sysad team at tfs will
continue to run it. (they have a slight interrest in 386bsd as well)

There are now enough running 386bsd sites that people having trouble with it
should be able to find a machine nearby to experiment with, so the
need for user account on ref has decreased.

My thanks to all those that helped me set up and run ref:
sarah, ljo, cgd, hasty, rich, nate (and a host of others)!
