Some day there will be only one type of Xserver for each family
(vga, S3/8514, hga, ega, etc.), which detect and understand all
console drivers dealing with X11 support. To my knowledge, no one of
the S3 / 8514 hackers have yet asked for assistance or information
about codrv (Amancio has explicitly refused to take more complicated
things than pccons into account).
There are efforts to get the non-VGA servers into a future release of
XFree86, but no information available about the forthcome of that.

So, currently there is no chance with non XFree86-1.2 compliant video
cards. Sorry, there's nothing I can do.
