Not meaning to discourage anyone from getting kermit (I use it, too.), but
I have no problems with tip (I'm tipped in from my home 386bsd now).  I have
these entries in my /etc/remote:

# Hardwired line
com1c|com1:dv=/dev/com1:br#9600:
com1b:dv=/dev/com1:br#2400:
com2c|com2:dv=/dev/com2:br#9600:
com2b:dv=/dev/com2:br#2400:

I just execute the following in an xterm:

	tip com2b
	atdt<company_phone_number>

And I'm in!  Is there something I'm missing?
