I spoke of work that to the best of my knowledge was OUTSIDE of
the XFree86 team. It is now very clear that your team is involved.
If I had known that your team was involved at all with the
S3 development effort which I am aware of I would have never posted anything.
The reason is because I know that XFree86's policy is not
to announce current activities.

My intentions were to inform netters that there was a port for the
purpose of helping people out. For instance, going out and porting
Kevin's Server to XFree86 with no knowledge that such task had already
been done by others. Personally, I hate to see massive efforts in one
direction without at least informing the current users of your
intentions but then again I am outside of XFree86.

BTW: this kind of exchange does not invite people to freely
contribute to your efforts.

Again, my sincere apologies for naively stepping in your territory.

One of the reasons for me being out of XFree86 is just precisely
this kind of exchange. On my end, I am placing this current
situation behind and I am going back to what I do best programming :-)
