`config' should NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER modify
ANYTHING outside of the /sys/compile/FOOBAR directory.  NEVER!!

If it builds a MAKEDEV script in /sys/compile/FOOBAR, that's fine.
