Since I know nothing about faster/slower/buggier/stabler etc and the man
macros, all I want to say is that I don't know ANYTHING about the
subject. I was passing on the information Bill gave me.

It appears (at least to me) that there are some good arguements for
keeping the new macros. If someone wants to find out why Bill thinks
they are buggy and fix them, then please do. (I didn't ask, didn't even
think to).

But, aside from changing the pages to the older style, there is sstill
the issue of cleaning up and updating the current man pages.
Unfortunately, it requires that we settle on which macro package to use.
As I see it, if you want to update the pages, use the NEW macros until
this issue is settled, simply because the current method is in use now.
If we decide at some later date to change, then we can use whatever
method is handy at the time to convert the man pages. However, as long
as there are reasons to keep the new ones, let's keep the new ones.

Fair enough?

Nate
