Keywords: WD Ethernet Message-ID: <1993Mar18.204637.27855@das.harvard.edu> Date: 18 Mar 93 20:46:37 GMT Article-I.D.: das.1993Mar18.204637.27855 Sender: usenet@das.harvard.edu (Network News) Organization: Aiken Computation Lab, Harvard University Lines: 20 I recently ftp'ed the full 386BSD 0.1 distribution (sources and all), and applied the 0.2.1 patch-kit plus the few newer patches (dated March 11th, 1993, including the _fixed_ version of patch 89) to it. My machine has a Western Digital EtherCard PLUS Elite 10T ethernet card. It's configured to the SOFT jumper setting so that it uses the soft configuration of IRQ 2, I/O address 280, and RAM address D0000. When I cold boot the machine, the driver probe routines successfully find the Ethernet card, and things work just fine. However, if I warm boot thereafter, the probe routines don't find it. Is there a workaround for this problem? Any advice greatly appreciated. And apologies in advance if I'm asking a question that's already been answered 1000 times; feel free to reply by email to save bandwidth in this case. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brad Karp | CS grad student, n=1 | home (617) 661-4979 karp@das.harvard.edu | | office (617) 496-4513
