Oh well, at least the Sun is on order... There seems to be some confusion here. There is "rn", which needs the "inews" client to connect to a newsserver. One can build "inews" from the "nntp" distribution with a command like "make client". Then there is "xrn", an X Window news reader, which doesn't need "inews". I have posted ports for these packages some time ago. Look for the appropriate packages and patches in "agate.berkeley.edu:/pub/incoming". The relevant file names are nntp.1.5.11.patch.386BSD nntp.1.5.11.tar.z rn-4.4.pl3.patch.386BSD rn-4.4.pl3.tar.z xrn6-17.patch.386BSD xrn6-17.tar.z (note that the tar files are compressed with "gnuzip") As to whether "rn" and/or "xrn" are superior/inferior to other packages, allow me to state that I have been using both of these for a long time and like them just fine (xrn is a bit of a memory hog, though!). The usual caveats, disclaimers and disavowals of responsibilty apply. Enjoy! Larry Felawka
