I am making a nightly tape backup of a directory using tar. Unfortunately tar will not backup files with pathnames longer than 100 characters long. This is a mega pain as my directory structure is pretty nested. Question : How can I get around the restriction of max 100 characters in the filename? Is there a new version of tar that allows more that runs on Ultrix 4.2bsd? Thanks for any answers, Peer Schmitz
