Agreed, you seem to be a rather busy person. However, to those who insist upon the stability of ext{2}fs (which i haven't have problems with, either), realize that if there is even a slight chance of a bug, it should be looked into seriously, instead of being denyed: and the following considerations taken into account for debugging: when do the problems arise? under heavy loads? under what hardware platforms? does it have problems with defective media? I will immediately comment that i cannot use mke2fs on one of my drives (nore mkefs) which dos formatted. It has one area with some wierd problem (norton calibrate blew up somehting having to do with the voice coil, and it has trouble past track 29 of 1224 with low level formats ..but DOS disk manager did the job, and made dos run on it). if dos can run on it, then linux should run on it...therefore, i see a potential problem in the works, possibly with teh drivers themselves, and not the filessytem. -- craig
