It's a C++ program, and it was compiled with gcc 1.39. You should get gcc-2.3.3 and groff-1.07. groff 1.07 is at alpha.gnu.ai.mit. edu and contains all the source, objects, binaries, macros, man pages, etc., in a 1.9 meg gunzipped tar archive. I obtained gcc 2.3.3 sometime ago from ref.tfs.com. Since it's gone away, I'd expect to find it in the from-ref directory on agate.berkeley.edu. BTW, groff 1.07 was compiled with gcc 2.3.3, and so far I haven't found any memory leaking problems in it. The leaking was fairly serious in groff 1.01, and I could only do a few troff sessions before the swap space got eaten up, performance degraded seriously, and I ended up having to reboot. >hellmuth michaelis HCS Hanseatischer Computerservice GmbH hamburg, europe >hm@hcshh.hcs.de tel: +49/40/55903-170 fax: +49/40/5591486 >[ the opinions expressed above are my own and not the opinion of anybody else ] -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ in real life: david fox email: dfox@quack.kfu.com 5479 Castle Manor Drive, San Jose, CA 95129 "Thanks for letting me change some USA magnetic patterns on your HD" -me 408-253-7992 "You've just won an absolutely FREE trip to the Isles of Langerhans" -me ------------------------------------------------------------------------
