With com2/modem Date: Fri, 26 Mar 1993 03:40:58 GMT Summary: Need help w/ com2 problem.. Message-ID: <C4H8wA.EGn@news.cso.uiuc.edu> Sender: usenet@news.cso.uiuc.edu (Net Noise owner) Keywords: com, modem Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Lines: 23 I've just run across a few problems with com2 and remote communications - anyone with ideas, hints, please e-mail me... Before I installed the BIN01 distribution and had 'tinybsd' on my hard disk, I could use 'tip /dev/com2' to get at-command level control of the modem. However, after installing v0.1 binaries and setting my 'phones' and 'remote' files, 'tip' doesn't seem to recognize the com2 port.. trying 'tip <system>' yields: lock open: No such file or directory all ports busy a simple "tip /dev/com2" yields "tip: unknown host tip0" Anyone with an idea of what's going on, please e-mail. -- (sig. under construction) Peter Novosel, pnn40202@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu
