THe file system on 386BSD is the fastest and most solid I've seen on ANY UNIX system, including other BSD based boxes. I have yet to even lose a file to crashes or my own fumblefingeredness. > By the way, guys, is all this crap really necessary ? No. It's just natural when you get a bunch of fanatics like us together, but it's *really* annoying when it gets this deep. I'm trying to pull my waders up over my head and the stuff's *still* leaking in. I *will* be trying Linux when I get another system to play on. In the mean time I'm using 386BSD because I had more and better reports of its reliability. I was particularly disturbed on hearing Linux was using KA9Q as the base of its networking code. I'm all too familiar with *that* software. It's an amazing feat, getting networking up on DOS (or any system with no usable O/S)... but the result is a program with all sorts of weirdnesses. -- Peter da Silva. <peter@sugar.neosoft.com>. `-_-' Oletko halannut suttasi tänään?
