Organization: Softway Pty Ltd Date: 29 Mar 93 06:14:02 GMT Message-ID: <paul.733385642@suite.sw.oz.au> Sender: news@softway.sw.oz.au (Usenet) Lines: 27 I've read everything I could find on deriving Xconfigs, including readme's etc, but could find nothing that would work with my (admittedly old) ATI VGA Wonder card (it's the early V3 version). None of the modeDB entries produced anything other than a poorly (if at all) sync'd display, and when I could see the X background and mouse cursor - moving the cursor left garbage in its wake. Comments in the driver such as 'V3 board support needs a lot of work - I suspect it isn't worth it' lead me to believe that the support is shakey at best. Anyone out there had some success with this card and a generic SVGA monitor? Patches, modeDB entries etc. warmly accepted (suggestions to buy a new VGA card are not hugely helpful, as I have a CAD package under DOS that correctly supports and it which is necessary for my business :-) Paul ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paul Antoine, Softway Pty Ltd Net: paul@suite.sw.oz.au PO Box 305, Strawberry Hills, NSW 2012, Australia Tel: +61 2 698 2322 79 Myrtle St, Chippendale, NSW 2008, Australia Fax: +61 2 699 9174 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
