You can get a working crypt from many (often non-US) sites, which does the required job. BTW: 386bsd no longer stores passwds in /etc/passwd, but in some kind of shadow file. Look for something like 'uunet-crypt', or go through the NET/2 distribution where it comes from. |> b) I have a v.32bis modem which runs pretty regularly at high speeds for |> uucp and Zmodem transfers. This should work ;-) The code should be available from agate.berkeley.edu. |> c) I assume 386BSD doesn't come with HDB uucp. Which uucp comes with |> it? The old "L.sys" style uucp? Any surprises in that area? It uses Taylor uucp, the one which is distributed by GNU. I recommend getting the latest package from prep.ai.mit.edu (or another GNU site), in particular to get the latest documentation. Taylor uucp is quite different from HDB. |> Denis, fortin@zap.uniforum.qc.ca, lmcdefo@lmc.ericsson.se -- Dr. Holger Veit | INTERNET: Holger.Veit@gmd.de | | / GMD-SET German National Research | Phone: (+49) 2241 14 2448 |__| / Center for Computer Science | Fax: (+49) 2241 14 2342 | | / P.O.
