I've also got an ~80 meg 386BSD partition, and I've rebuilt the kernel many times. If all you want to do is recompile the kernel, you surely don't need the full source distribution. You only need the first 5 or 6 cpio pieces (i.e., src01.00 through src01.05) in order to do this. However, not all the patches are kernel fixes. Some of them are patches to program source code, and for this you need the full source distribution (or at least most of it). Alternatively, you could ftp the source code for each individual program that needs patching, patch it, compile, install, and then ftp for the next program that needs patching. Except for the kernel, there's really no need to keep all the 386bsd sources online, I don't think. >Peter > >---------------------------------------------------------------------------- >P.Tattam International Phone 61-02-202346 >Programmer, Psychology Department Australia Phone 002-202346 >University of Tasmania, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia >---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- David E.
