Yup, you can add parallel printer support to 386bsd, but your going to have to add a few patches to the system yourself (ie. non-standard patches). To start with, the printer driver which appears in the source distribution is hosed. Your best bet is to get the patches for the interruptless printer driver, which can be found on agate. Apply whatever patchkit you are using, then start applying th patches for the printer driver. (Remember that you will have to back out the printer patches before putting in a new patchkit.) The procedure for installing the interruptless printer driver is described pretty well in the file that contains the patches for it. I have now got a kernel with 2 parallel printers configured - and am successfully running an Epson LX800 and an HP LJ3P - works nicely.
