Message-ID: <C4v05J.t1@nmrdc1.nmrdc.nnmc.navy.mil> Date: 2 Apr 93 13:58:28 GMT Organization: Naval Medical Research & Development Command Lines: 30 I was wondering about future 386BSD releases... On a 486/33 AMI motherboard (ISA), 8Mb, 240Mb Quantum SCSI w/1542, it seems the 5Mb swap is not enough. This happened: 1) bin01, etc01, src01 - no problems 2) Install patchkit 0.2.2 - no problems 3) config GENERICISA;make depend;make - no problems 4) buildworld.sh (I think that was the name - going on memory) - PROBLEM; after about 3 hours of happy compiling, the system hung (yacc or gcc...) No joy. Will future releases automate the disklabel/swap size so you can specify how much swap space you want? Also, will XFree and TeX be part of the release? I would really like to get a handle on the partitioning basics, but a Linux flunky like myself has a bit of trouble getting up to "critical mass" with the current installation approach. As always, any feedback/wisecracks/flames/suggestions greatly appreciated! -- ============================================================================== phil perucci | "Any opinions expressed are my views, dsc3pzp@nmrdc1.nmrdc.nnmc.navy.mil | not the position of any organization" ==============================================================================
