It appeared to be better, I then tried to install cgd's com drivers (0.2.1). The patch -p appeared to work with no errors. (The documentation says all old files will be called <name>.0.2.1, I haven't got any of these!!) I rebuilt the kernel, no problems! Rebooted, all ok (fifo recognised and enabled!) Now if I try to send a character to any of the serial ports the machine completely locks up! All I want to do is run a slip link at the fastest speed possible (can it do 57600?), the bidir functionality will be nice. Can somebody help me? Thanks, Lee.
